Most of us remember the March of Dimes growing up as an organization that eliminated Polio.
Today it is chartered with the responsibility to find the cause and prevention of premature births, one of the main causes of infant mortality in the United States. To bring the topic closer to home 1 in 7 or 13.7% of all births in Texas are pre-term or premature. The effects are sometimes death or life long illness and can include cerebral palsy, mental retardation, chronic lung disease, blindness, and hearing loss.
Austin is one of 10 American cities that exceeded $1 million in monies raised for the Walk two years in a row. Texans never do anything small.

* Match the Fund Raising Efforts of an existing Team – If you know someone who already walks for the Babies, consider matching their fund raising

The Austin Area Mazda Dealer's Association is sponsoring another Raffle for a brand new 2010 Mazda CX-7 Crossover vehicle. Take advantage of winning a vehicle for only $20 per chance. There are only 5,000 tickets sold. So the odds can't be better.
This year's March for Babies is May 8, 2010 at Auditorium Shores. Over 8.000 attended last year's March that raised over $1 million. Have some fun walking, attending or donating this year the day before Mother's Day.
Austin Humane Society's 6th Annual Car Raffle Winner Announced !!
The Austin Humane Society's 6th Annual New Car Raffle was held Saturday March 27, 2010 at Mazda South.
Congratulations to Brenda Gerland, winner of the 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata Power Retractable Hardtop!!

It was an exciting moment when Brenda was called. She was in the garden when contacted and couldn't believe the news. After being convinced it was for real, Brenda and her husband came to Mazda South to pick up the car she won.
With only 5,000 tickets sold, the odds were great. Brenda bought six tickets.
Thank you Brenda for supporting the Austin Humane Society.
